Come, join us for a wonderful day!  Conference fee is $25.00, which includes a light luncheon.  Deadline for registration is August 25.  Walk-ins are WELCOME and encouraged, but luncheon may not be available.   Mail registration to:

 8:00-  8:30 a.m.     Registration

 8:30-  8:45 a.m.     Welcome and introductions

 8:45-10:00 a.m.  Dr. Rob Lamm - Sensory Writing: You Can

                                                                      Almost Taste It 

         The five senses invigorate writing, yet often our written works miss many

         opportunities to become vivid. Our abilities to discover and create fresh

         sensory images can improve by using a number of tricks. 

         This session will be hands-on, eyes-open,  mouth-watering

                       --you get the idea!

 

10:15 - 11:30 a.m.  Ellen Withers  - Starting and Sustaining Your

                                                                  Freelance Career  

         This step-by-step program will provide multiple ways to break into the 

         freelance field, explain how to build a portfolio of publication credits 

         and create a win/win relationship with editors and publishers.

 

11:30- 1:00  Lunch / Contest Awards

 

  1:00- 2:30 p.m.  Jennifer DiCamillo - Which Publisher is Right

                                                                               for You?

         A guide for determining when you are ready for publication, 

         researching publishers vs self publication, the printing process,

         and sorting through the good and the bad advice.

 

  2:45- 4:00 p.m.  Deanna Dismukes - Time to Write: a guide to

                                                                        Writers' Retreats

         Deanna will help you decide how to take time for your writing

         and explain what to look for in a retreat, what to expect from it, 

         and what you are expected to give in return.

 

           There will be a 15 minute break between each session
