Last month our President Lisa Collins and Vice President Melinda LaFevers gave us a nice overview of what they
learned at Mid-South Con.
This month Jessica Saucier will be our guest speaker. She’ll be talking about how
to successfully use horses in our prose. This will be a meeting you won’t want to miss!
Whether
you’re writing historical fiction, historical romance, contemporary fiction or a western, horses are found in fiction
writing more often than you might think.
But how do you know which breed of horse works well for your prose? Will
an Appaloosa serve the same purpose as a Saddle bred?
And will the setting you’ve placed the horse in be
their natural environment?
Come listen to Jessica Saucier as she gives all the tricks of writing
on horses, as well as what not to do.

It
was brought to the attention of the group we need an updated and more professional online presence. One of the options put
forth was to nominate and elect a new officer to handle all online communications. This position would include handling the
following online media: Website, Email, Yahoo Group, Facebook, Twitter, etc…
Should changes be made through the voting process, the by-laws will be updated accordingly.
Hope to see you at the May meeting with your nominations in tow and your voting hats
on.
