Critics
have called Kristin Tubb’s Autumn
Winifred Oliver Does Things Different (Delacorte Press/Random House) "...a
wonderful debut novel, full of history, excitement and sensitivity.” Autumn is an historical fiction account of the beginnings
of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park told through the eyes of 11-year-old Cades Cove resident Autumn Oliver.
It was selected by the Tennessee State Library to represent the State of Tennessee at the 2009 National Book Festival
and is now available in paperback. Tubb’s forthcoming novel, Selling Hope (Feiwel &
Friends/Macmillan, Fall 2010) is set in 1910 Chicago on the vaudeville circuit and tells of the (potentially deadly?) approach
of Halley’s Comet. Tubb’s other publication credits include Cricket Magazine, Spider Magazine, Guideposts
for Kids, Wee Ones eMagazine, and Highlights for Children. She has written
a number of children’s activity books for licensed characters such as Holly Hobbie, The Powerpuff Girls, Scooby-Doo,
Strawberry Shortcake, and the Care Bears. Please visit her website: www.kristintubb.com.

Pat Laster is the author of three articles in The
Encyclopedia of Arkansas History and Culture and one in Arkansas Biography. She has written a weekly column
for the Amity (AR) Standard since 1998. She is a contributing editor for Calliope: A Writer’s Workshop
by Mail. A workshop leader for the annual Lucidity
Poetry Retreat, she attends the writers’ retreats at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum Educational Center twice a year.
She is an alumna of The Writer’s Colony at Dairy Hollow, preparing her first novel, A Journey of Choice, for
publication by iUniverse. Pat
has been writing poetry since 1984 and has won the prestigious Sybil Nash Abrams Prize. She has been published in Aim,
Lucidity, Calliope, Silver Wings, Haiku Hippodrome, Modern Haiku, Frogpond, Grist, Laurels (WVa), and the Poets’
Roundtable of Arkansas anthologies.
