Nadine Birdwell was born on Four Mile Hill in Searcy, AR, sixty seven years ago. Her family moved
to Griffithville, AR when she was five, and she graduated there, then moved to Little Rock, AR, and on to various towns in
Mississippi, Nebraska, Alabama, Colorado, Oregon, and then returned to Searcy where she married her high school sweetheart.
Nadine has four children, ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She worked as an aide in
public schools in Missippi and Oregon, at in the school for the handicapped in Denver. She has held jobs
as receptionist, secretary, day cares, cleaned houses, kept children in her home, and has been a manager for McDonalds’
restaurants.
In addition to writing, her hobbies are cooking, painting (oils and acrylics) piano and organ, crochet and sewing.
She even makes jewelry. Her writing includes songs, poetry, and children’s stories.
Nadine says, “I believe in God and Jesus Christ, and am patriotic to my country. I learned
to b e creative to keep my sanity. I believe when you quit learning, your life is over.”
